'braid' bracelets

these are available in red, dusty rose, royal blue, light slate, chocolate brown, linen, or white. all are cotton thread. the beading here is all wooden beads in random order, though they could be specified as well. i also have rock beads in grass green or black. others can be arranged on special request, but the cost may be a little more for new materials.
i recommend keeping the beading in the 'braid' (like the red and pink ones here) if you like to wear multiple bracelets at a time. the linen colored one is meant to be worn alone. the blue one in the picture is actually an anklet, though any pattern can be made to any length.
they all have lobster claw clasps.

flowers

i've been making a lot of various little flowers for hair clips lately, all colors, sizes and i think a fun mix of textures and stitches.

hippo

sweet, soft huggable hippo. what more can i say?!

i totally copied this pattern because i thought it was absolutely adorable just as it is!

balls

i love these cute little fun balls! they're about 3 inches across (though that varies somewhat by yarn and the texture of the ball). they're stuffed with soft fiberfill--like a pillow, so they're safe to play with in the house. these were a gift for a 1 yr old's birthday. the purple and yellow one is soft cotton, and the pink varigated one is baby-acrylic with just a hint of shine. the loops could be cut and the yarn wouldn't unravel at all. these loops are made small, though bigger would be possible. i'll post some more that i've done soon.

azalea bowl

this pretty little bowl is made from all natural unbleached cotton thread, it's about 5 1/4"x 2 1/2" at it's widest dimension, and is perfect for holding little pretties :) it's patterned after azaleas, though i did NOT come up with the pattern entirely on my own.
it's mimiced from a pattern for sale here, though i did not order the pattern.
mine is slightly different (and certainly much smaller).

batman

special order batman hat, what more can i say?!

headband

this cute simple little baby headband is adjustable with elastic in the back, and the flowers/bow/button are all interchangable for on the headband, or to be worn as clips seperately
(assuming you can get your baby to keep them on ;)

legwarmers

i made some cute little legwarmers for my girls for Christams (in what may yet be seen to be a vain attempt to keep their pants long enough for school... or rather, to cover the gap between the end of the pants and the top of the socks... kids grow SO fast!), and then a friend begged for a pair of her own, so here's some cute and girly legwarmers:

bracelets

these bracelets are super-cute and ready-to-sell. if you are interested in buying any let me know, and if you know anyone that might like some, let them know ;). they're all natural materials, cotton thread and real wood or rock beads-- right now i'm only selling the green-turquoise shown here or wooden beads (i'll get a pic up tomorrow).
this partifular pattern is modified from here

baby owl hat

this may just be my favorite baby owl hat yet! this was for an old hs friend's baby, made from all cotton yarn, and super soft. it's also the smallest i've made yet, to fit 0-3 months (though i hope it'll stretch a little more...). love the sleepy owl look!

mitts

i made these for a friend to pass on as a gift. i love the idea of the fingerless glove, or mitt! i porbbaly won't be able to make this exact pattern again (i don't always record my "patterns" very well, but i think the idea is a definate keeper! warm and soft, and perfect for driving a car with a cold steering wheel, texting/phoning in winter, pushing a stroller into the wind, and dozens of other situations...

sea turtle

this was one of the most fun spur-of-the-moment things i've ever crocheted! i was making a little baby hat (see it soon, i'll post pics in the next day or two) for an old high school friend of mine, and i remembered her 3-yr old loves sea turtles. my friend had just shown pics of the big girl room on fb, redone as she did the nursery for the baby--all in sea turtles, super-cute! and i pulled together some scraps and put this together.

top view, shows off his fancy colors

and a tummy view, the shell is actually completely removable, which inspired my friend's daughter to giggle about her "naked" turtle :) fun times!

despicable me minion

if you've seen Despicable Me, i'm sure you remember these little minions :) after all, what's not to love?!
i made this little guy for my sisters birthday. he's one of the few patterns i've taken directly from another designer, though i did change the boots a little. check out the original here.

mom's Christmas scarf

so i wanted to make something a little soft and special for my mom for christmas, and this was what i came up with:

 i love the yarn, it's a bamboo-cotton blend, so it's super-soft and natural.
this was one pattern i followed more closely than most, though i changed
the hook size to fit my hand and yarn. the pattern's from: here

monkey pirate!

do i even need any sort of caption here? the monkey pirate hat has to be one of my favorites yet!

pink frog

so if i was a little skeptical about a blue puppy dog, you can only imagine what i was thinking when my hubby wanted me to make a pink frog for his neice for Christmas. and i must admit, if i liked the blue puppy, i LOVE the pink frog... way to think outside the box hubby!

nothing like big bulbous eyes to make a frog look great!

and lots of green spots, cause a frog looks better with spots!

and my personal favorite touch, a classic little black fly at the end of her tounge!
ribbit!

puppy dog hat

so when my husband told me he wanted a blue and white puppy dog hat for his nephew for Christmas, i must admit i was a little skeptical, but i LOVE how it turned out!

i had some fluffy white yarn on hand from a long time ago, and it even had blue flecks in it, so i thought it would make a nice base color, and i couldn't be more pleased with how it looks! i was able to match the blue pretty much exactly, so the mis-matched ears and the spot by the eye worked great.

after that, all he needed was a little pink tounge!

golden snitch

a simple little golden snitch for a couple of my favorite harry potter fans out there. the wings look speckly, but that's because i couldn't figure out how to get the sparkles (metallic gold thread) to show up in the picture.
(now i've got a new camera, so it might be better, but i've already given the snitches away)

red queen anne scarf

i've seen similar patterns to this one called queen anne lace, so i'm calling it that too, though it may not be an official name. this soft cotton yarn was really nice to work with, and the lacy, girly effect was fun too--

this is to show off the detail.
this pattern is slightly modified from here
though the original is in German
(hence the potential for modification ;)

wendy hat

in honor of my awesome sister-in-law, wendy (who loves purple and all things french), i made this purple woolen beret. i also made one exactly the same, but cotton (same color though) for a friend of mine that liked this one so much but lives in a warmer climate :)

girl shark

the last shark-hat i made was clearly for a boy... this one had to be dolled up with a double bow and 'killer' eyelashes, and made of soft alpaca wool.
(ps my model's only 5, but the hat was for a 10 yr old girl, so it looks a little big in the picture)

baby galoshes

this is currently my favorite baby bootie...
seriously folks, they're adorable!

i think next time i might make them a little taller before i add the handles

Christmas Owls

we LOVED these hats (hopefully my adorable nieces do too!) even my baby was playing with them--and he doesn't like hats!

these cute little owls have mittens to match, cause it's always fun to accessorize! note too, i did add eyelashes to the bigger owl, and i also added the matching purple string to the sleepy baby mittens after the picture was taken

close-up of the larger hat, I LOVE this orange chenille yarn, this particular color was left over from a previous hat, but i look forward to getting more of the super-soft yarn for future projects!

and a close-up of the sleepy baby owl, it was looking a little plain, so R (my 3-yr-old) said i should add a bow:

great idea R!

christmas begins with mittens

so i've had tons of things i've been wanting to post, but i've been putting them off til after Christmas so as not to ruin any surprises... clearly these would have been the favorite of anything i could have made... or maybe not, but either way, my favorite brother got some nice manly wollen mittens for Christmas... welcome to Chicago little brother! i hope they're warm enough, i know the wind is a biter there, so they may not be quite enough, but i thought they would be a better fit than anything you can find on the shelves (my brother has skinny man hands). and there will be a bunch more Christmas gifts up on this blog soon, ideas for the winter season or even for next year!
